Trauma

I run face-to-face sessions in Yorkshire including in Leeds, York, Hull and Bridlington. I run online sessions wherever you are in the world. 

I have a deep understanding about mental health and wellbeing, and experience of working with people in tnany different situations in their lives. Clients feed back that I am calm, warm and approachable - that they feel accepted and comfortable being themselves. The approach aims to help people to overcome problems that might at first feel overwhelming, breaking down complex issues into practical, manageable steps. My goal is to build hope, motivation and a clear focus to achieve the positive changes that matter to you. 

For as long as I can remember i have been interested in and curious about people. I have also always found meaning in work which has centered on hearing people’s stories. 

I became a fully qualified Human Givens Psychotherapist in 2006. And have been running a very busy private counselling practice in Manchester for 11 years.

Emily is currently not taking on any new clients.

The most rewarding thing about using this approach is being able to make a difference and give hope.

I have a background in teaching children in primary schools and teenagers / young adults in language schools.

After working in a social role with Education Welfare, Youth Offending Teams and Family Group Conference organisations, I trained in the Human Givens (HG) approach and qualified in 2003, achieving

With 30 years working and studying in the Health & Social Care sector Carmel now practices as a HG Therapist.

I have spent more than 20 years working for charities, supporting service users with trauma, anxiety, addictions, homelessness and involvement in the criminal justice system.

I have recently secured success with couples counselling both at my practice in my hometown of Woburn Sands, Buckinghamshire and at the Berkeley Centre Health in Clifton, Bristol.
