Accredited Psychotherapy Register
When you qualify as a human givens practitioner, you will be able to apply to join the HGI’s Professional Register.
This means that you will be entitled to use the letters HG.Dip.P., MHGI after your name and, very importantly, if you work in the UK, display on your letterhead or any personal advertising the logo showing that the HGI’s register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accreditation with the PSA lets organisations and the general public know that individual therapists on the HGI’s Professional Register meet the required standards for training, supervision, ongoing professional development, safe practice and competence. This is an enormous plus, if you plan to work in private practice. It is also now a requirement, when working as a therapist for the NHS, to be registered with a professional organisation accredited by the PSA.
You will also be able to put a personal profile, worded as you wish, on your own therapist register page, which is consulted daily by very many people looking for a therapist that they can trust. You will also be able to list yourself on other online directories of therapists which include information about the human givens approach and list other HG practitioners.
Once you have joined the professional register, you will bound by, and protected by, the HGI’s Ethics and Professional Conduct Policy, which clearly sets out the requirements for safe, effective and respectful practice.
