HG training in the USA
As part of our ongoing work with partners in the USA to bring more HG training to the United States, the first of the 7 core Diploma courses currently available online – Effective Anger Management with Joe Griffin – has just been given Continuing Education approval by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) in the USA.
Applications for CE approval for the remaining 6 online courses have now been made to the CRCC and we will let you know the outcome for those as soon as possible.
‘Navigating the Teenage Years’ – new book
Sue Saunders, who many of you will be familiar with as one of HG College’s tutors and one of the key people responsible for the HGI’s Professional Therapist Register gaining PSA accreditation in the UK, has just had her first book published by Orpen Press: ‘Navigating the Teenage Years: A compassionate approach’.
It’s a practical, empathetic and highly informative read – infused throughout with human givens principles – which looks at key areas such as brain development, risk-taking, bullying, depression, anxiety, drugs and alcohol, sex and romance, family relationships, tantrums, health, meeting innate needs, developing resources, hormones, communication, rule-breaking and more.
Full of useful strategies that parents and teenagers alike can easily follow, it’s a wonderfully clear, accessible guide to understanding and navigating the sometimes turbulent waters of adolescence – in as stress free a way as possible.
It also makes a perfect accompaniment to Richard Brook’s HG College Course: How to work effectively with troubled and troublesome teenagers.

“Humour is the great thing, the saving thing after all. The minute it crops up, all our hardnesses yield, all our irritations, and resentments flit away, and a sunny spirit takes their place”
