Membership Levels
There are various levels of HGI membership, a brief overview of them is given here, you can find out more about each using the 'read more' links. Members must pay an annual membership fee and abide by the conditions of their level of HGI Membership.
As a result of adopting the SCoPEd framework, we have made changes to our professional membership levels to include additional registered membership levels which are recognised by SCoPEd and mapped to its framework's 3 columns, as detailed below.
General
Associate Member – AHGI
Open to anyone who is interested in, or keen to support and be part of, the development and spread of the human givens insights and approach. Many retired HG therapists retain Associate Membership. Read more >
Professional
Trainee Member
All successful graduates of Part 2 of the Human Givens Diploma are invited to join the Institute as a Trainee Member of the HGI (previously known as Graduate Membership, GHGI). It is a prerequisite for Part 2 graduates who are seeing clients. Read more >
Registered Member – MHGI
A fully qualified HG therapist/practitioner, who has successfully passed all 3 stages of the Human Givens Diploma to practitioner level (Part 3) and met the requirements of registration with the HGI.
This equates to Column A of the SCoPEd framework. Read more >
Accredited Member – MHGI (Accred)
A more experienced HG practitioner, who can demonstrate the required hours of training and therapy and safe, effective and ethical practice.
This equates to Column B of the SCoPEd framework. Read more >
Senior Accredited Member – MHGI (Snr Accred)
A highly experienced HG therapist, capable of taking an active role within the professional community, who can demonstrate the required hours of training and therapy and safe, effective and ethical practice.
This equates to Column C of the SCoPEd framework. Read more >

Fellows – FHGI
The Institute also has the power to elect as a Fellow (FHGI) a Registered Member who has made a distinctive contribution to human givens studies or its teaching or application. Read more >
Honorary Member – HonHGI
Honorary Memberships may also be awarded for outstanding contributions to the field. Read more >

HG practitioner Felicity Jaffrey, who lives and works in Egypt, received the extraordinary honour of being invited to speak at Egypt’s hugely prestigious Global Congress on Population, Health and Human Development (PHDC24) in Cairo in October.
