Further Information: Sue also has her own private practice in Sedgewick and does medico-legal work for a variety of solicitors. She has international clients all over the world. She has never yet encountered a situation or a person who could not benefit from the HG approach — “we are all human and consequently we are all more alike than we are different”.

Sue came to love the human givens approach many years ago and qualified as an HG Practitioner in 2002.  “How reassuring for individuals to realise that they are not going MAD after ALL, and their brain has just been 'doing its stuff'.”

Originally trained as an Occupational Therapist she has 20 years experience of working with fabulous people all over the world. She loves to get to know people and her personal passion is to re-introduce fun and friendship back into lives which have become anxiety-ridden, dull, lifeless and hopeless.

Sue works as an HG therapist at TheSPACE/HGC Therapy & Training Centre in Kendal, where she enjoys working with a wide variety of clients of all ages, and at TheSPACE with Fellside School supporting the young people who live and are educated there.  Many of these young people have experienced several placement breakdowns and have additional needs in relation to family breakdown, abuse, sleeping/eating disorders, panic attacks, 'flashbacks', aggressive behaviour, the autistic spectrum or learning difficulties. She also sees parents and teachers and other health professionals to help them understand the Human Givens approach and how we can all benefit from this new way of thinking.

All the young people at Fellside want to change, and TheSPACE's commitment is to help them build on existing resources, to develop new and different lives, through healing the past, being secure and safe in the present and moving with them towards a new vision for their future.

She has many personal hobbies and pursuits, such as mountain climbing, travelling and also has a Private Pilots License.  She exports wheelchairs to Africa, fundraises for charity and is an active member in the Forgiveness Project and peace building.  She is a member of the Legacy Project at the Peace Centre in Warrington and commits herself to acts of peace and reconciliation between individuals and groups irrespective of the background of the conflict.

In 2002 Sue was awarded 'Woman of the Year' for courage.
